Hey, this isn't Undertale...

Seems to perfectly recreate and even improve upon Toby Fox's work, while still having its own vibe. Music is great, battles are a bit unbalanced but fair, puzzles are there, art is okay but doesn't need to be more than it is now.

I am stuck in the Cerulean Forest! I activated a firefly jar in one of the rooms, but I don't think it did anything. Maybe it's a bug? I guess it was supposed to lower the spikes or open the bridge, but they're still up, so I can't get past the area and finish the demo :(

(I can hear Waspy from the Earthbound/Undertale soundfont in the skeleton song and trailer music... Also the battle theme sounds a lot like Stronger Monsters... Keep wearing that inspiration on your sleeve buddy!)

the potential is real

there should be easier first enemy than mad duck

Fun fact: In game save file a lot of item descriptions (=

Quick question: So I just got past Cerulean Forest, and I am at the 2 puzzles. I'm suck and cannot figure them out, can someone explain what I need to do? I tried looking it up, but the game is not popular enough to find results like that for it.

EDIT: I just figured out the second puzzle, but I'm clueless on the first still.

EDIT 2: Sorry guys, I'm so dumb. I just figured it out. Easiest 2 puzzles of my life, I'm mentally stupid.

10/10 game, I've only noticed minor bugs such as how if you are pressed directly against a wall you take turn to that wall unless you move away. (This is because the game is coded to change directions when you move that direction, and it ban be easily fixed by making it change directions when you press the arrow key). A minor annoyance is that the talking sound effects for the characters does not line up with when each character is displayed in the dialogue box. Other than that, prefect game.

there some arg shit going on rn? why does the twitter in the uodates section link to this random japanese account which just posts a bunch of numbers https://twitter.com/Un4v5s8bgsVk9Xt

most likely

Please describe the circustances in which the game is crashing. Also, you just have to sit on a white bench to save your progress. Thanks! =)

First off HOLY CRUGENOLY I DID NOT THINK I'D LOVE THIS AS MUCH AS I THOUGHT I WOULD. It was admittedly janky and I found myself clipping through objects and charters once or twice but that was expected since this is just a demo. The thing that most impressed me was probably the Ronald fight, it was a bit to long and one of his attacks was very easy to cheese but apart from that - perfect. A lot of his attacks seem kinda unfair at first but there was always a trick to them (idk if it was intentional or not). The dialogue was also very impressive, none of it felt forced and most importantly the jokes where funny (except the NFT one that's not gonna age well).

My main problem is that the most the puzzles weren't really puzzles, it was more of just do thing. Like trying to find the switches behind the trees was trial and error and nothing else. Another minor issue I had was some fights felt unbalanced for example some enemies started with a hard attack and then their next attacks are much simpler and easier to avoid. Also Mescla felt really unfinished but that'll be because its a demo, right?

oh and also you deserve a gold medal for the idea of chatting to enemies after you've beaten them through a random encounter.

fav music : To the bones (es funky)

           : Water paths (es atmospheric)

: Serious Ronald (es good boss music)

Ik this is a long comment but i really feel like this game has so much potential. (Also i definitely didn't make an account just to post this)

This game looks awesome. But sadly I cannot play it due to my current devices. Which includes a phone, a Chromebook (basically just a web browser that can only download simple files on it) and a television. But the trailer looks absolutely breathtaking. And was honestly surprised when The viewer count said only 3900. I personally think this project should have much more attention. It looks like it'll have very [[specil]] mechanics that intertwine with undertale's. I think it would be nice if you made a discord and we could all discuss the game and the ideas around it. While keeping updated on the updates and the eventual release. I will show as much support as I can. Except money. I'm broke.

you can actually play this with crossover or using wine via linux

how to beat mad duck?

This game is awesome and I really really hope it gets made into a full game. My one issue is that it's a little too similar to undertale in some areas, but other than that I love it.

Hello ! I played the DEMO and it was very fun, the characters are endearing, jokes are very good, puzzles are cool and I love the universe and its different mysteries! But I have various things to say!

- The main character mouvements are quite... slow, so I think he should be a bit faster or a sprint button would be welcome!

-The invisible walls break the immersion a bit, maybe you should put an automatic dialogue like "I shouldn't go that way" or something like that

-And I found a glitch where I can Out Of Bounds in this room, it doesn't teleport me and I can literally go anywhere (staying in the room)

And that's all, I wish you good luck with your game, I can't wait to see the final version (and also I'm eager to see even more Undertale reference 😉 )

Played on version 1.0.4

Even tho it's heavily inspired by undertale, It has its own charm and it's really enjoyable, worth giving it a try.

pros:

-nice music

-fun boss fight.

-skeleton gang.

cons:

- just ok visuals (not that much of a problem)

suggestions:

-spoken text could be faster sometimes

-mushroom puzzle could make a sound when completed.

-After sparing a enemy, game could save that information .(because let's say, sparing enemy A and then dying on enemy B, so you will have to fight enemy A again can be frustrating. Especially becouse you can have 2-3 ecounters between spawn points)

bugs:

- if you beat all enemies in the region, game try to start the random encounter, but ultimately fail and just stop you for few seconds.

played on version 1.0.3
